Research has shown that a diverse medical workforce helps improve patient trust, communication, cultural understanding, and health outcomes.
According to Black Health Data, Black physicians make up just 5.7% of active physicians in the United States, despite Black Americans comprising 13.6% of the population. African American men remain significantly underrepresented among physicians in the U.S. population.
