What
is the purpose of tithing?
Deuteronomy 26:12 ESV. “When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.”
The Bible clearly states that the tithe should be used to help the widows, orphans and needy in the church and community.
The truth is that TITHING is a Biblical principle based on FAITH! Giving back to God requires both FAITH and LOVE.
Why
is it so hard to get started with tithing?
Satan wants you to think that God is not being fair. Satan fills your mind with selfish thoughts. On the surface, it appears that tithing is to help others, but the truth is - God is working on YOU.
God is trying to remove GREED, ENVY, PRIDE and FEAR from your heart.
I barely have enough money to pay my bills, what should I do about tithing?
When discussing God blessings for your life, if you are only thinking about your bills, making rent payments, and surviving high food and gas prices – you don’t know anything about window sizes in heaven...
When God opens the “windows of heaven” and pour out his blessings on your life, there will be no room large enough to receive it.

1. IT’S A COMMAND FROM GOD - “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.” Leviticus 27:30 KJV - Give to God first! Everything belongs to Him. The tithe is holy. Tithing is a command.
2. IT’S A COMMITMENT TO GOD - The commitment is based on LOVE and not fear. Our heavenly father is rich. He owns all things and we are heirs to his throne. We are stewards of his creation - even our very lives belongs to Him.
Tithing is giving back to God what he already owns. The tithe belongs to God.
Tithing is your personal praise ceremony to God and should be given with thanks.
3. IT SUPPLIES GOD’S STOREHOUSE - When we fail to give God back what he already owns - we are robbing Him. The tithe you give is for God to bless others. God’s work on Earth is withheld when we do not give a faithful tithe.
4. IT BRINGS PEOPLE TO GOD AND THE CHURCH - The Bible clearly states what the tithe should be used for - the church at work in the community.
5. IT CARRIES BLESSINGS AND CURSES - Read about "The Miracle of Tithing." Pray for strength and power to be released from the burden of debt and the penalties of sin. Let God transform your will to become servants of the Most High.

Don’t be afraid to TEST GOD. God test us all the times to let us see our level of faith.
God knows the “end from the beginning.” Malachi 3:10 NIV says “Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough for it...”
