TITHING: 10 REASONS YOU SHOULD GIVE - Put God to the Test

I'm not throwing the Bible at anyone…

Where do you get enough money to give ten percent (10%) of your income for tithe while struggling to find a job, pay taxes and insurance, buy food and make rent or mortgage payments?

Does tithing make sense?

How do you receive the bountiful blessings of God by GIVING away your hard earned money?  

How are you going to ever get ahead and live comfortably? 

STOP IT! CALM DOWN!

I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. 

Here’s what the Bible says about "greatness" in Matthew 20:26 NIV “whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.” 

Whoever wants to be first must be last.

God ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts.  You just discovered the simplest and most powerful spiritual and financial growth plan in the world. God wants you to be happy and prosperous so you can be a blessing to others. Get ready to receive your blessings!   

What is the purpose of tithing?

Deuteronomy 26:12 ESV.  “When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.”

The Bible clearly states that the tithe should be used to help the widows, orphans and needy in the church and community.

The truth is that TITHING is a Biblical principle based on FAITH! Giving back to God requires both FAITH and LOVE. 

Why is it so hard to get started with tithing?

Satan wants you to think that God is not being fair. Satan fills your mind with selfish thoughts. On the surface, it appears that tithing is to help others, but the truth is - God is working on YOU.

God is trying to remove GREED, ENVY, PRIDE and FEAR from your heart.

I barely have enough money to pay my bills, what should I do about tithing?

When discussing God blessings for your life, if you are only thinking about your bills, making rent payments, and surviving high food and gas prices – you don’t know anything about window sizes in heaven...

When God opens the “windows of heaven” and pour out his blessings on your life, there will be no room large enough to receive it.

 The Bible says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 KJV

Let’s go deeper into the concept of tithing...

10 reasons you should be tithing…

1.  IT’S A COMMAND FROM GOD - “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.” Leviticus 27:30 KJV - Give to God first! Everything belongs to Him. The tithe is holy. Tithing is a command.

 2.  IT’S A COMMITMENT TO GOD - The commitment is based on LOVE and not fear. Our heavenly father is rich. He owns all things and we are heirs to his throne. We are stewards of his creation - even our very lives belongs to Him. 

Tithing is giving back to God what he already owns. The tithe belongs to God.

 Tithing is your personal praise ceremony to God and should be given with thanks.

 3.  IT SUPPLIES GOD’S STOREHOUSE - When we fail to give God back what he already owns - we are robbing Him. The tithe you give is for God to bless others. God’s work on Earth is withheld when we do not give a faithful tithe.

 4. IT BRINGS PEOPLE TO GOD AND THE CHURCH - The Bible clearly states what the tithe should be used for - the church at work in the community.

 5.  IT CARRIES BLESSINGS AND CURSES - Read about "The Miracle of Tithing." Pray for strength and power to be released from the burden of debt and the penalties of sin. Let God transform your will to become servants of the Most High. 

 6.  IT ENSURES LONG-TERM HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN ALL YOUR DAYS - God promise to open the windows of Heaven and pour out His blessings upon you for exercising your love and faith in Him.

 7.  IT KEEPS DISEASE, DISASTER AND SUFFERING AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE OF GOD - “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee... for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” KJV - Exodus 15:26

 8.  IT’S A SIGN OF THE BLESSED UNITY OF GOD AND MAN - Your giving is proportional to your Love for God and His people.

 9.  IT GIVES YOU FAITH - You must learn to trust God: the ruler of Heaven and Earth and the source of ALL THINGS. 

 10.  IT HELPS YOU GROW IN KNOWLEDGE AND TRUTH - Through tithing, God wants you to learn and grow in his word. It takes faith to believe that God will reward your giving. God can’t lie. 

 How do I get started with tithing?

Put God first in all things. Faith means putting your fears and doubts aside and trust in God. That’s the reason Philippians 2:5-11 states: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus...”KJV

If you are new to tithing, ask God to help you grow in the knowledge of truth and be blessed His riches and abundance…                       

Can I test God to see if tithing works?

Don’t be afraid to TEST GOD. God test us all the times to let us see our level of faith.

God knows the “end from the beginning.” Malachi 3:10 NIV says “Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough for it...”

 Stop doubting! 

Start trusting. 

God said it – do it!
